I’ve had a lot of unfortunate events in my life. I’m sure we all have. What I’ve learned though, thanks in LARGE part to the words of the late Dr. Wayne Dyer, “When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.
Sounds simple but it takes a lot of practice to really master that. The majority of people in society today tend to look at and dwell on distasteful, tragic and unfair things in the world and their mental and emotional state reflect those things too.
If you want to have true freedom and joy in your life, you need to radiate those qualities and you do that by filling your mind and heart with positive, healthy thoughts and experiences. Do random acts of kindnesses and remain anonymous. Enjoy the feeling of making someone smile without shouting from the rooftops, seeking admiration and applause, for doing that feeds your ego and starves your soul.
To achieve greatness in your life, your focus needs to be on helping others achieve greatness. When you do things with self in mind, it hampers your ability to attract people to you. When you consider anyone that many people admire and gravitate toward it is usually someone who makes them feel good. When your motivation and your behaviour is self-centred, people tend to avoid you.
So the takeaway? You attract who and what you are. So be the best version of yourself, fill your mind with positive, character-building activities. Try to learn something new EVERY DAY and above all else reflect daily on the things you are grateful for.
